You will never be the same.

If you would like to make a difference in a child's life, and in your life, be a volunteer. We are always looking for volunteers of all ages to help provide a wonderful experience for our campers. Many of these children have never had a chance to attend a slumber party or even spend a night away from home, except in a hospital. Our campers are able to experience a slumber party, with emphasis on "the party". They enjoy many firsts: Fishing trips, swimming, horseback riding , and even starring in a talent show. They sit around a campfire, listen to ghost stories, play pranks, and in general, do what children are supposed to do at camp, HAVE FUN! In the process, they help us learn more about ourselves and what it means to live life to the fullest. 

Volunteers

All volunteers should be available to help at least one day during the camp week.


Those volunteering for one day only may be asked to assist with swimming, tree climbing, horseback riding, crafts, songs, games, or other activities.


Once your application is received and approved, you will receive a letter or email with more information on your role, training day, and what to bring with you the week of Fresh Air Camp.


If you want to volunteer, but do not know your work schedule/volunteer availability, please complete the application and then just let us know your availability as soon as possible. 


Cabin lodging and all meals and snacks are provided for volunteers.

Medical Volunteer
Medical buddies provide the day-to- day medical care for our campers, and will be with their assigned camper from 0800-2200. 

Requirements: Medical professionals (RN, LPN, RT, Paramedic, or medical student), or students that have completed their pediatric rotations. A mandatory training session will be held on the Saturday before camp.

Non-Medical Volunteer
Non-Medical Buddies will spend the entire week with their assigned camper and provide assistance to the camper in activities of daily living, assist in camp activities, and assist the medical buddy whenever possible. 

Non-Medical Buddies who stay overnight must be entering their Junior year in high school.

Activity Staff
Although not involved in direct care of campers, Activity Staff interact continuously with campers and other volunteers to ensure developmentally appropriate activities are available to all campers. 

Activity staff are responsive for the planning, set-up, and implementation of camp activities.

Night Shift

Night shift volunteers cover the hours of 2200-0700 and will work as a team to monitor campers while in the cabin.  
Each cabin, consisting of 6-10 campers will be staffed nightly with a RN, a RT, and a Paramedic. A pediatric physician and Nurse Practitioner are on-site at all times.

Set-up/Take-Down

The Friday before camp starts is set-up day. Volunteers are needed from 0800- 1600 to help unload and sort two moving trucks worth of equipment, clean the cabins and campground, and get the facility ready for our campers arrival.

The Friday of camp is tear-down day. Volunteers are needed from 0800-1400 to help tear down all of our equipment, help campers and families pack up to return home, and do basic cleaning of the campsite that has been our home for the week.

Cafeteria Crew
With hundreds of hungry volunteers (and a few hungry campers), we need help feeding them. If you want to help, but can only come out for a couple of hours, we are always looking for volunteers to help our food vendor. 

This job consists of serving meals and helping to keep the kitchen clean. If you're interested in being part of our cafeteria crew, there is no need to fill out an application. Just send an email to:
